Over a year ago I reviewed a Garmin Instinct rugged GPS watch. In fact, I made that video shortly after I got my hands on it. It was a new release from Garmin at the time and so I couldn’t tell you anything about its durability and long term performance. Fast forward 14 months of heavy outdoor use and here’s how it holds up. Also a few things you might want to know before you buy it.

I like the style and the durability of the watch. The syncing is simple and the compatibility of the watch and phone work well. Other than that, the watch is overpriced and the tracking information is poor. The sleep tracker is inaccurate all of the time and the step meter is just okay. the other components are average at best. Based on pricing I could buy an apple watch for less with better tracking information
